OVERVIEW
The TASER X26C is modeled after the law enforcement TASER X26 and utilizes the same technologies found in law enforcement models. The main difference between the TASER X26C and law enforcement's X26 is the range, which is 15' in the X26C and longer in the X26.
The TASER X26C has plenty of take-down power, with enough voltage to completely override the brain waves that control voluntary muscle movement. The electrical current is carried by conductive insulated wires connected to two probes which are discharged using compressed nitrogen.
The X26C is software upgradable and can also be equipped with a TASER CAM, which can record audio and video when the device is in use.
The Difference between an X26 and X26C TASER
The main difference is police model TASER devices typically utilize cartridges that have a range beyond that of the consumer cartridges. Allthough police cartridges can be used on the X26C, consumers are not allowed to buy police cartridges.
Another big difference between the X26 and the X26C is the cycle time. On the consumer model TASER X26C, when the weapon is deployed it delivers a shock for 10 seconds. Additionally, if the user squeezes the trigger two more times after the device is deployed, it will deliver a shock for 30 seconds, allowing time for the user to excape. On the police TASER X26 models, only a 5 second pulse is delivered upon deployment and a 30 second pulse is not available.
